What's great is that it gives you an instant snapshot of where you are and where you need to go, just like that.

The calculator helps you estimate, step by step, how much income you might earn, or need to earn, through government pension programs and your own savings. It takes into account things like Old Age Security, the Canada Pension Plan or Quebec Pension Plan, employer pension(s), Registered Retirement Savings Plans and other sources of income.

It's great to have federal and provincial retirement plans in your financial future, but they're only a start. The calculator helps you see your entire financial situation and what steps you should take to reach your retirement goals.

To find the calculator, visit Service Canada's home page at servicecanada.ca, scroll down to the Seniors section, and on the right hand side, select the button, "Calculate your retirement income."
