A growing group of individuals from Shelburne County have been working together to create a space unique to the area.

It is called the Space: Meet. Work. Create.  An office designed as a co-working meeting space.

The Mowatt Street building is available 24/7 and has the basics any group or individual might need including Internet connection, well-lit spaces to work, and a meeting room just to name a few.

Helene Branch is part of a not-for-profit organization that created the Space.

Branch said it was more than just an office space for those without an office.

“A bit of magic happens when you get people together in the same space,” she said.

She said there are already community groups using The Space and it is expected to be a well-used service.

Branch said there are many people who also work from home in the area who might need to use the space for many reasons.

“Sometimes is nice just to get out of isolation,” she said.

She said The Space would grow into what the people who use it need.

The monthly fee ranges from $20 to $45 per month based or $10 per visit.

It can be found on 159 Mowatt Street and people with questions can contact

Smart lady. Wonderful idea. I hope this idea is duplicated in other areas.
