The Region of Queens is holding a special council meeting on Friday, April 25 at 9 a.m. to amend the development agreement with Chandler's Funeral Home.

Chandler's Funeral Home has started to build a spot for a crematorium on their property.  It was recently discovered that this part of the property must be used for parking only so a public consultation will have to occur before work can continue.

The funeral home is looking to build a crematorium behind their buildings on land they already own. Originally it was thought there was no rezoning needed, however it was later found it was zoned for parking only.

It was incorrectly stated in the April 22 edition of the Advance that a public hearing was set for Wednesday night. The Wednesday meeting is a Planning Advisory Committee Meeting, to discuss the amendment and make a recommendation to council.

Both meetings are open to the public.
