PeopleWorx is holding an "Opportunity Expo" in Coldbrook on April 16. Recent PeopleWorx Continuing Care Assistant Program graduates Thomas McGillis, Tabitha Keddy and Diane Cutler were all able to find jobs in their field before they graduated.
It’s an opportunity for job seekers to meet with local employers who are actively recruiting and benefit from educational and training opportunities. PeopleWorx is hosting an Opportunity Expo in partnership with the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work and the Kings branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association at the Opportunity Centre in Coldbrook Village Park on April 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
There will be more than 15 local employers on hand who are actively recruiting, including Apple Valley Foods, Atlantic Superstore, Careforce, the Department of National Defence, Eassons Transport, Eastern Traffic Services, Frito-Lay, HGS, Home Depot and more.
There will also be a showcase of educational and training opportunities and various employment-related programs that support Valley residents. Kings Transit is offering free bus transportation for job seekers attending the event. Special “Expo Bus Tickets” are required and can be obtained by contacting PeopleWorx.
PeopleWorx staff members are available in any of their three offices, located in Coldbrook, Middleton and Annapolis Royal, to provide one-on-one assistance with resume and cover letter development in preparation for the job fair. Job seekers can also sign up for free employment-related workshops or get help preparing for job interviews.
