A yoga and exercise studio is set to open in Liverpool on Jan. 13.

Amy Wolfe, owner of the studio and a yoga and fitness instructor, calls the business an “active living studio.”

Wolfe, a Queens County native, started off her education in history and book publishing but after working an office job in Toronto for a few years she decided to try something new.

“I worked in office jobs and realized I wasn’t cut out to work at a desk all day and I became a personal trainer,” says Wolfe.

Wolfe is a Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine and is certified to teach yoga, pilates, and spin classes.  She has worked as a fitness manager at a Goodlife gym and was employed at Queens Place Emera Centre as well.  She eventually decided to work on her own and create and manage her own classes.

Classes are available for many different age groups.  Some classes available are Kettleball, yoga, hot yoga, pilates and more.  She also provides personal, one-on-one training, and can help manage fitness and eating habits. All equipment is provided in the studio as Wolfe says she wants to make going to class as easy as possible.

Studio Southwest will have free open house classes from Jan. 6 to 11 and regular classes start on Jan. 13.  The studio is located at 222 Main Street in Liverpool.  For more information contact Amy Wolfe at 902-356-3222 or visit www.studio-southwest.ca
