Lobster prices are rising. After five years of depressed prices, lobsters were fetching over $5 a pound on the wharf last week. And, there are indications that the price could rise higher in the coming days which would be good news for fishermen and businesses in the area.

The higher prices have been offset somewhat because foul weather has plagued the opening month of the commercial fishery, with high winds keeping many lobster fishermen ashore numerous days.
