South Shore Wild got their first win at home in overtime Oct. 25.

Justin MacDonnell received a pass from Justin Hanley and scored 1:44 into overtime against Valley Keiths. The overtime win was long coming and well needed as the Wild lost earlier in overtime against Yarmouth.

Nick Handspiker and Justin MacDonnell scored twice with Kyle Crouse adding a single in the 5-4 win.

Sixteen-year-old goalie, Mike Smith was busy. Shots on goal were 47-42 for the Wild.

It should be noted that last year the Valley Keiths beat the Wild in all four games, so this is a good start for us.

The Wild are playing Halifax Thunder at home on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 8:15 p.m. On Tuesday night, Nov. 4, the Wild will host Barrington Ice Dogs at 8:45 p.m. The Wild will be on the road Nov. 7-9 in Halifax, New Waterford and Parrsboro.
