The Friends of the Kentville Library are looking for donations to support a book sale fundraising event Oct. 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in conjunction with the town’s Harvest Festival celebrations.

While the Harvest Festival will be in full swing at Centre Square Oct. 4 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), with a Farmers’ Market, hay and pony rides; the book sale will be going on right across the street at the Kentville Recreation Centre. The Friends are asking for the public’s help for an array of books as part of their fundraising efforts, and they encourage donations at the Kentville Public Library. The library will host a formal drop-off Oct. 1 to 3, but Friends would appreciate donations as soon as possible.

Carol Robar of Young Drivers of Canada will accept books and has provided space at her workplace to house them prior to their display. They can be delivered to her at 8781 Commercial Street, New Minas. For information, she can be reached at: 681-9362 or newminas@youngdrivers.com.

For additional information on the Friends of the Kentville Library book fair fundraiser or membership with the Friends, contact chairwoman Frances Schagen at library@cleartoyou.com, (902) 678-1607; or co-chairwoman Ginny Evans at evanscg@av.eastlink.ca or (902) 678-4411.
