IBDES, S.L., a 20-year-old technical marketing company based in Madrid, will represent QWIP Tech to government, military and commercial customers in Spain.
"With IBDES' long-term contacts through the Spanish marketplace, especially in the military and government sectors, we look forward to a successful and prosperous relationship," Mark N. Sirangelo, president and CEO of QWIP, said in a release.
"This agreement is part of QWIP Tech's aggressive global marketing plan to enter into local partnerships with the leading technology distribution representatives in all key markets for our products," Sirangelo said.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
QWIP Technologies develops infrared sensor technology for use in advanced camera imaging systems. It was formed in July of 1998 as a subsidiary of ViaSpace Technologies, a technology incubator with strong ties to the California Institute of Technology and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
