Le groupe financier TD a annoncé un revenu net applicable aux actions de 359 millions $, ou 0,84$ par action pour le dernier trimestre.

Le revenu par action est comparable aux résultats du trimestre correspondant l'an dernier, qui étaient aussi de 0,84$ par action. Le revenu net applicable aux action n'était toutefois que de 29 millions $ l'an dernier, une hausse de 1 137%.

Les revenus net n'ont connu qu'un légère hausse au deuxième trimestre cette année, passant de 537 à 546 millions $.

Le total du revenu d'exploitation est toutefois en baisse de 7% par rapport à l'an passé, se chiffrant à 2,65 milliards $.

Le chef de la direction, Charles Baillie, attribue ce statu quo à la piètre performance du groupe TD Waterhouse.

Mardi, ce groupe d'investissement a annoncé que son bénéfice net a passé de 76,6 millions à 6,5 millions $. Un plan de restructuration est maintenant en place, visant à des compressions de 200 millions $US, dont l'élimination de 900 emplois par attrition.
